GAPP Services

Georgia Pediatric Program Care. Growth. Possibility.

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is a Medicaid program that provides services to medically fragile children ages 0–20 who need skilled and unskilled services. There is no out-of-pocket cost to the family.

Services are approved based on the child’s medical needs, and families who are eligible for Medicaid can apply for GAPP at any time.

Who GAPP serves

GAPP serves eligible children from birth through age 20 who need medical or personal-care support. Medicaid eligibility, medical necessity, and program authorization determine access to services and approved hours. Our team can discuss your child’s needs and explain the information needed to begin an application.

In-home care built around your child

Depending on the approved plan, support may include licensed nursing care, assistance with daily personal care, and help following established care routines. Nursing and personal-care tasks are different services: medical tasks must be provided by an appropriately licensed professional. We work with families to understand the child’s routine and the care ordered by their healthcare provider.

Parent Caregiver and Parent Pay Option

Eligible parents may be able to provide approved personal-care support for their child through the Parent Caregiver Option. Parent Pay starts at $15 per hour with 365 Health Care. Participation requires eligibility, applicable onboarding and training, and authorized care hours; it is not automatic payment for every hour a parent spends caring for a child. Explore Family Caregiver Support and Parent Pay.

Applications, renewals, and care needs

Our team can help families understand new applications, renewals, and requests for additional care hours. Approval and changes to hours depend on program review. If Medicaid coverage needs reinstatement, families must work with DFACS; we can check eligibility after coverage is reinstated.

Getting started

Contact us to discuss your child’s age, current care needs, Medicaid coverage, and any existing care authorization. We will explain the next steps and discuss available services. No child’s name or medical records should be entered into a public website form.
