Family Caregiver Support & Parent Pay in Georgia

Caring for a medically fragile child is deeply personal. Our Family Caregiver Support service helps eligible families explore the GAPP Parent Caregiver Option and understand how a parent may be paid for approved care at home.

Parent Pay starts at $15 per hour

365 Health Care offers Parent Pay starting at $15 per hour for eligible parents providing authorized personal-care services through the Parent Caregiver Option. Payment applies to approved services and authorized hours—not every hour of everyday parenting. Eligibility, onboarding, required training, and the child’s care authorization must be confirmed before paid care begins.

Who may be eligible

This option is connected to GAPP care for eligible, medically fragile children ages 0–20 in Georgia. The child must meet applicable Medicaid and program requirements, and the parent must meet caregiver participation requirements. Our team reviews the family’s situation and explains the next steps; enrollment or payment is not guaranteed simply by applying.

What parent-caregiver support includes

Approved personal care may involve assistance with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, hygiene, and mobility, as specified in the child’s care plan. We help parents understand their assigned responsibilities, scheduling, and documentation expectations. The exact tasks and hours depend on the child’s approved plan.

Personal care is not licensed nursing

The Parent Caregiver Option does not automatically authorize a parent to perform skilled nursing tasks. Medical care requiring a nursing license must be provided by an appropriately licensed nurse. Families whose children need both services can discuss skilled nursing alongside GAPP personal care.

How to begin

Contact 365 Health Care to discuss your child’s needs, current Medicaid status, and existing authorization. We will explain application and caregiver onboarding steps, any required training, and how approved schedules are established. If your child already has GAPP services, we can discuss the applicable renewal or change-request process.
